Non-Traditional Wedding Guest Book Ideas

Your wedding guest book is one of the few physical mementos you’ll have to cherish after your wedding. A wedding guest book is signed by all guests in attendance at the wedding. They are welcome to write well wishes or advice for the newlyweds. Over the years, guest books have evolved, and couples are adding their own personal touch to make them more meaningful, fun, and functional. From postcards to audio guest books to messages in a bottle, we’ve seen it all! Here are a few of our favorite unique guest book ideas from couples who got married at Bear Brook Valley.

Globe Guest Book

Photographer: Jill Lynn Photography

A unique guest book that we rarely see— a globe for guests to sign. Perfect for the travel-lovers, and you can display it in your home after the wedding!

Wedding Piñata

Photographer: Timothy Andersen

Guests wrote messages to the newlyweds on sticky notes and placed them in the piñatas. The couple can open the piñatas after their wedding or on their first anniversary. This was such a fun and unique guest book that we haven’t seen before!

Calendar Guest Book

Photographer: Molly Sue Photography

The bride and groom created a custom calendar with photos from their engagement shoot. Guests wrote their names on their birthdays and their anniversaries so that the couple can remember important dates of their loved ones. Brilliant!

For the travel lovers! The couple had postcards from around the world that their guests left notes on and then placed them in the mailbox.

Audio Guest Book

What’s better than a handwritten note from your loved ones? A voice recording that you can listen to for years to come! Guests can leave a message of well wishes on these vintage-style phones that you can rent for your wedding.

Polaroid Book

The couple set up a table with a blank book, markers, tape, and polaroid cameras. Guests took photos of themselves and taped them in the book with a message written next to it. It’s so much fun to look at all of the photos and notes after the wedding!

Playing Cards

The labels were numbered marking each anniversary; the couple will open the bottle of wine on the corresponding anniversary year.
