2024 Wedding Trends: Ins & Outs

As wedding professionals, we are exposed to lots of trends—some that hold strong for years, while others are fleeting. Since we chat with engaged couples on the daily, we get an up-close look at what modern couples are interested in and which traditions they are eschewing. So stick around to see what’s in store for 2024!

Note: It’s your wedding and you can do whatever the heck you want!

Documentary Style Photography

If you’ve scrolled through Instagram or TikTok recently, you’ve probably noticed a trend in the photos. More and more couples are searching for photographers who are leaning into authenticity by capturing candid moments rather than posed moments.

Content Creators

Another trend you may have scrolled upon is hiring a content creator for your wedding. A content creator is separate from your photographer and videographer; they are there to capture the little in between moments of the day that may have been missed otherwise. They take photos and videos of the behind the scenes and then send you all of the content (typically the following day).
Note: Check with your photographer and videographer before hiring a content creator. Some do not allow it!

Late Night Snacks

Late night snacks aren’t going anywhere! Treating your guests to McDonalds, pizza, or a breakfast sandwich after a night of dancing and drinking will never be a bad idea.

Taking Advantage of Planning Resources

When you become a Bear Brook Valley couple, you will have access to endless planning resources that make planning your wedding easy peasy! We have an online planning portal full of info (floor plans, measurements, signature drink list, etc.), a menu picker, cloud-based forms, and more. And we are constantly updating our blogs, Pinterest, TikTok, and Instagram with inspiration. Take advantage of all of the help you have right at your fingertips!

Champagne Towers

We are getting requests for champagne towers from almost every couple! For a moment, we thought they were making their way out, but champagne towers are still going strong!

To-Go Desserts

🎵 Don't stop me now. 'Cause I'm having a good time. Having a good time! 🎵
Don’t want the party to stop? Keep everyone on the dance floor by offering passed desserts or desserts to go! Wedding manager, Christina says, “A lot of couples have been asking for desserts to-go. They don't want guests leaving the dance floor for anything!”

Not Eating on Your Wedding Day

One of the biggest regrets couples have is not eating on their wedding day. At Bear Brook Valley, we are here to make sure you eat and get to try all of the delicious food! We’ll put a platter of cocktail hour food together for you and your partner to enjoy privately!

Private Last Dances

As intimate and sweet as a private last dance sounds, they’re just not very practical, especially if you’re trying to maximize your time dancing with your guests. Wedding manager, Christina has noticed that this trend is fading because couples realized that a private last dance cuts the night short.
Alternate option: Take a quick break from your cocktail hour and do a private first dance while guests continue to mingle.

Farewell Brunches

Couples are opting out of hosting brunch the morning after their weddings…maybe it’s the hangovers??

Favors

Wedding favors have been slowly phasing out. Rather than giving out knickknacks that guests will most likely forget or eventually throw out, couples are opting to use late night snacks as their token of appreciation for their guests.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed by ideas and opinions from others. Whatever you decide to do on your wedding day is up to you! The ins and outs above are trends that we’ve noticed come and go. Talk to your wedding coordinator if you need some guidance on what might work and what might work for your wedding! Happy wedding planning ♡
